Research Interest

Independent research program involves the development of synthetic media for culturing and bioassay testing Daphnia magna, the influence of endocrine disrupting chemicals on sex determination in D. magna, the use of the Japanese medaka (Oryzias latipes) embryo larval assay to assess the developmental toxicity of contaminated sediments and the seasonal variation of hepatic and ovarian zinc levels and metal-binding proteins in female channel catfish (Ictalurus punctatus).  Other research interests include the use of biochemical and physiological biomarkers in freshwater fish, invertebrates and amphibians to assess environmental contamination.
