| Planning for the Application Process
If you are a ULM Student, please meet with an advisor in the Student Success Center to plan your semester coursework and application timeline. Be sure to evaluate the application pre-requisites often and pay close attention to the application rules and minimum requirements as your application process begins.
If you are a transfer student from an out-of-state college/university or other Louisiana institution, please note that equivalent courses may or may not be available at your current place of enrollment. For most Louisiana institutions, we have established an equivalency table for the specified pre-requisite coursework. If your current place of enrollment is not found in this table, that means we do not have information available to establish an equivalency at this time. In order to receive equivalent credit at such an institution, you must provide to us via U.S. Mail, the following items:
- A cover letter detailing the specific equivalency requested (be sure to include a specific course to course requests, example: I would like to substitute BIOL 223 at USC for BIOL 214 at ULM);
- A current academic catalog from your current institution;
- From your current institution, class syllabi from the department responsible for the course instruction (a syllabus from each course found in the cover letter must be included).
These materials will be evaluated by the Office of Student and Professional Affairs within the College of Pharmacy. A recommendation will be forwarded to the College's curriculum committee for further evaluation. Confirmation or denial of your request will be sent to you via electronic or U.S. Mail. Submission of a request does not guarantee acceptance of an equivalency.

Application Process
The application process consists of 3 steps:
Step 1
Meet our minimum eligibility requirements.
|
|
Step 2
Complete the needed applications.
|
|
Step 3
What to do after your application.
|
|
Step 1: MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
All students applying to the program compete for space in the class. The minimum requirements to be considered for the College of Pharmacy's professional program are:
-
Completion of the pre-pharmacy requirements (page 136) with no grade less than “C” by June 15 of the year you are intending to enter the Doctor of Pharmacy program;
-
Possess a pre-requisite and cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.000 (uncorrected, based on a 4.0 system) in all previous coursework undertaken, exclusive of developmental courses, whether passed or failed at all institutions of attendance;
-
Possess a minimum PCAT composite score, percentile rank of 50%;
-
Possess a minimum score of 3 on the Conventions of Language section of the PCAT writing assessment.
PLEASE NOTE: For the 2008 admission cycle, the College of Pharmacy will accept the best PCAT (composite score, percentile rank) attempt up to and including the October 20, 2007 PCAT test date.

Step 2: NEEDED APPLICATIONS
Completion of the PharmCAS Application and fee by February 1, 2008
Completion of the College of Pharmacy Supplemental Application and fee by February 1, 2008
Completion of the ULM Undergraduate Admissions process by February 1, 2008.
(Please note that successful admittance to ULM does not guarantee admissions into the professional pharmacy program.)
|
|
Step 3: AFTER APPLYING
After e-submitting your PharmCAS Application and mailing your Supplemental Application:
Check with PharmCAS
Check with PharmCAS to make sure all transcripts have been received by them. All transcripts must be submitted, even if you had taken one course at another institution.
PharmCAS will not submit your application to us until all official transcripts are received. Official Transcripts must be received by PharmCAS by the February 1, 2008 deadline. We recommend submitting transcripts and applying early to ensure that all required materials meet the deadline.
Currently enrolled University of Louisiana at Monroe applicants
In the past, ULM students were not required to submit transcripts in the application process. Since we have moved to PharmCAS, ULM students will now be required to submit transcripts as outlined in the PharmCAS application instructions.
