Julie Cruse Wilkinson, RPh, MBA

Julie Wilkinson received her pharmacy degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe (formerly Northeast Louisiana University) in 1994 and her M.B.A. in 2000.  She worked for 7 years in the retail sector before joining the United States Public Health Service in 2001.  A lieutenant in the USPHS, she worked for the Federal Bureau of Prisons for 3 years as the Chief Pharmacist before accepting a position with a CHS facility.  In 2004, Julie accepted the Director of Pharmacy position at Byrd Regional Hospital where she has been heavily involved in numerous quality improvement initiatives.  In 2005, she was recognized by the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy as a “Certified Pharmacist Preceptor.”

Julie was honored with the “Outstanding MBA Graduate” Award, whereby only one award is given per graduating class.  She received several awards while on active duty with the USPHS, including the “Hazardous Duty Award,” the “Commissioned Corps Training Ribbon,” and a “Commendation Medal.”  Julie was also presented the “2004 Distinguished Young Pharmacist of the Year” Award by the Louisiana Pharmacists Association (LPA).  And most recently, she received the “2005 Clinical Manager of the Year” Award at Byrd Regional Hospital.

She now serves her third year on the LPA Board of Directors as the Treasurer.  She is a member of the American Pharmacists Association, the Louisiana Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists, a Life member of the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) Alumni Association, and a new member of the ULM Dufilho Society.  She represented Louisiana at the 35th Annual Southeastern Pharmacist Officers’ Conference in Baltimore, MD.
