Research Interests

Dr. Hussain’s research interest primarily focuses in the field of inhalation protein and peptide drug delivery. He is currently investigating ways to improve absorption of drugs by non-invasive routes in laboratory animals. He is also exploring and understanding the mechanisms of peptide and protein drug transport in vitro in cell culture models.

The other research areas in which Dr. Hussain has worked and is currently pursuing include, but not limited to: protein formulation, pre-clinical pharmacokinetics, pulmonary toxicity studies, respiratory mucociliary clearance studies, colonic drug delivery, and microencapsulation.
