Meeting the needs of students and helping them succeed is important to the ULM College of Pharmacy. Therefore, to assist students in progressing through challenging courses, Rho Chi tutors are available at no cost to the student.
Student Participation:
Individual students may voluntarily seek out the aid of Rho Chi tutors. Rho Chi members will be available for one hour per course offered per week at designated times and locations throughout the semester. In addition, students may contact tutors directly in order to schedule an additional two hours of tutoring per week outside of the designated sessions if needed. A list of tutors and contact information is available on the Rho Chi website. Once a student has initiated the service, the tutor and the student may determine the frequency and best time for their sessions.
Students are encouraged to sign up for designated tutoring sessions in the Office of Student & Professional Affairs. Sessions will be limited to a maximum of 3 students per hour so that tutors may provide an optimal environment for tutoring. Preference will be given to students who have reserved sessions, but drop-ins may seek assistance if there are vacant time slots, up to the maximum of 3 students per hour.
The purpose of this program is to assist students who are having difficulties with course material and not to provide last-minute “cramming” sessions. Therefore, tutoring will not be provided for subjects on the day before an exam is scheduled in that subject.
Students seeking tutoring should:
Tutoring will be available for the following courses during the Fall 2009 semester:
If tutoring is needed in other courses, students may contact Victoria Williams, Rho Chi President, to arrange sessions. (williavl@warhawks.ulm.edu)
